Jesus loves YOU.

Sometimes when I hear something over and over again it starts to become redundant and not as valuable to me as the first time I heard it. I want to expound on that for a moment to remind you of what that means.

Jesus loves you.

Romans 5:8
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

We are conditioned to feel like we have to work and earn love. As much as we desire to give and receive unconditional love it is a hard task for us as humans. We are conditioned to expect things in return when we give anything to others. This is why the Bible talks about denying self so much because that is exactly what Christ did 2000 years ago for us. While we were dead in our sins, He died for us.

Philippians 2:4-8
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Unconditional (Agape) Love is what we all desire. A love that isn't based on who we are or what we do or what we can bring to the table. A pure love, that chooses us first, right where we are and continues to pursue us without conditions.

We can't earn His love.

He didn't wait for us to get our act together. He didn't wait for us to pass the test. We weren't even alive when He considered us as He was nailed to the cross. Jesus was in the beginning at the right hand of the Father interceding for us, being fully aware of our sinful condition. Yet He still chose to die for me and for you

Romans 8:34
Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

He took on our guilt, our shame and paid the ultimate price for us. Because of His great love for us sin is no longer a barrier between God and us. We were enemies of God and deserved His wrath but Jesus came to restore our relationship with our Creator.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ephesians 1:7
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.

His great sacrifice forever silences any doubt that He loves us!

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

You are loved ♡

Good, grief.

This morning my mom called. She had called me late last night but I was asleep. This morning she called again and I instantly knew something was off. I woke up this morning expecting to have a great day just because I went to bed at a good time the night before and woke up and made a smoothie. I've always hated Mondays, a lot of the worse days of my life or most frustrating days seemed to be on Mondays. Today was no different. I called my mom back and she begin to tell me that my cousin Edward aka "Junior" died last night. Not only did he die but he died in the basement of my Aunts, his mom's house. The same place my other cousin Eric died 5 years ago. They were brothers, Eric was the youngest. I was heartbroken and instantly broke out in tears. Eric was one of my favorite cousins on my mom's side of the family, we shared a love for art. When he died just 8 days after I moved to Dallas, I was devastated. I moved to Dallas on July 7, 2017, and he died on July 15th....

Struggling with discontentment?

Adam and Eve were the first human beings to struggle with discontentment. God already provided all that they needed but He forbid them of just one thing. And that one thing "to be like God" soon became what their "hearts desired" after Satan deceived them. But they were already complete and whole. The devil made them feel like they needed something more, that what they had wasnt enough. So he enticed them to disobey God in the pursuit of wanting to be like God. They were discontent with what they already had, which was already enough. They were living in paradise, amongst God in the garden of Eden and they had one another to experience it with. Seriously, what more could they have asked for? But that's what the devil will do, he will convince you that there is always more to be had, but sometimes the "more" requires us to be disobedient to get and keep it. Discontentment can easily lead to sin, guard your heart diligently and seek the Lord for...

The Real Purpose Driven Life

"I want to know what's my purpose, why am I here?" "What am I being called to do?" Have you ever asked yourself this? We all have at one point or another. We are wired to want to live a purposeful life. We are wired to want to live a satisfying life. But as Believers we are called to live a set-apart life. Not to merely seek after our ambitions but to seek after Christ. Before Christ we wonder what we need to do to make our lives better, but in Christ we should be focused on what we could do to bring glory to God. We exist for God. To bring Him glory and honor and to fulfill His purpose. I dont know about you all, but this gives me rest and peace when anxiety creeps on me. I always thought that I had to do some magnificent thing to bring God glory but really it can simply be me sharing the Gospel with a coworker or donating to a charity or volunteering on a Saturday morning at a charity or spending time with those who are hurting or even just praying for the...
