Quick Blog: Giving to others.

Throughout my walk with Christ, I have been truly learning how to love others, and stop making everything about me. I have always been a generous, giving, and kind person. But because of being so generous I have been taking advantage of several times by people I would not have thought would do me like that. And yet because I have a kind heart, I still continue to love on them, and help them.If it wasn't for Christ, I would have a bitter heart towards all of those people who did those things to me. I want to live Christ-like, so I choose to keep loving the unloving, and forgiving the unforgiving because I know it will help me grow spiritually, and draw me closer to God. In the bible it says it is better to give, than receive (Acts 20:35). I find myself asking God, how come I have yet to meet other young Christians that are like me, giving, with a pure heart? How come I keep finding myself giving, and not ever receiving? Than I instantly have to tell myself, it isn't always about me, and what I want and need. I'm learning to just take a step back and stop worrying so much about when my portion will come, and focus on giving what I do have to others.

Good, grief.

This morning my mom called. She had called me late last night but I was asleep. This morning she called again and I instantly knew something was off. I woke up this morning expecting to have a great day just because I went to bed at a good time the night before and woke up and made a smoothie. I've always hated Mondays, a lot of the worse days of my life or most frustrating days seemed to be on Mondays. Today was no different. I called my mom back and she begin to tell me that my cousin Edward aka "Junior" died last night. Not only did he die but he died in the basement of my Aunts, his mom's house. The same place my other cousin Eric died 5 years ago. They were brothers, Eric was the youngest. I was heartbroken and instantly broke out in tears. Eric was one of my favorite cousins on my mom's side of the family, we shared a love for art. When he died just 8 days after I moved to Dallas, I was devastated. I moved to Dallas on July 7, 2017, and he died on July 15th....

Struggling with discontentment?

Adam and Eve were the first human beings to struggle with discontentment. God already provided all that they needed but He forbid them of just one thing. And that one thing "to be like God" soon became what their "hearts desired" after Satan deceived them. But they were already complete and whole. The devil made them feel like they needed something more, that what they had wasnt enough. So he enticed them to disobey God in the pursuit of wanting to be like God. They were discontent with what they already had, which was already enough. They were living in paradise, amongst God in the garden of Eden and they had one another to experience it with. Seriously, what more could they have asked for? But that's what the devil will do, he will convince you that there is always more to be had, but sometimes the "more" requires us to be disobedient to get and keep it. Discontentment can easily lead to sin, guard your heart diligently and seek the Lord for...

The Real Purpose Driven Life

"I want to know what's my purpose, why am I here?" "What am I being called to do?" Have you ever asked yourself this? We all have at one point or another. We are wired to want to live a purposeful life. We are wired to want to live a satisfying life. But as Believers we are called to live a set-apart life. Not to merely seek after our ambitions but to seek after Christ. Before Christ we wonder what we need to do to make our lives better, but in Christ we should be focused on what we could do to bring glory to God. We exist for God. To bring Him glory and honor and to fulfill His purpose. I dont know about you all, but this gives me rest and peace when anxiety creeps on me. I always thought that I had to do some magnificent thing to bring God glory but really it can simply be me sharing the Gospel with a coworker or donating to a charity or volunteering on a Saturday morning at a charity or spending time with those who are hurting or even just praying for the...
